To qualify for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree, a student must have completed all Ohio University graduation requirements. You may have met many of these requirements during your previous nursing education program.
The requirements consist of four parts. Click each part to show or hide the course listings. Under Part II – BSN Major Courses, you will find a mini-syllabus that lists a course description, prerequisites, textbooks and outcomes of the BSN major courses.
Part I consists of Nursing Support Courses, many or all of which will have been completed during your associate degree and can be transferred to Ohio University. These courses are offered online by Ohio University unless otherwise noted, or you may take them in traditional face-to-face delivery at one of Ohio's six campuses, or you may complete a course at another college and transfer the credit to Ohio. Click the course titles to show or hide the course descriptions.
Part II consists of BSN major courses, which you will complete online during this program. Click the course titles to open the mini-syllabi.
Part III consists of Ohio University General Education Support Courses, many of which you may have already completed or may be met as you complete required nursing courses. If you need additional general education course credit, you may earn it in three ways: complete a course at Ohio University through traditional face-to-face delivery at one of our six campuses, complete a course online from Ohio, or complete a course at another college and transfer the credit to Ohio University. View more information about general education requirements.
A total of 192 credits with a 2.0 grade point average. Many of these hours you may have already completed and they can be transferred to Ohio University; some will be earned while taking nursing courses and support courses. After you apply to the program and submit transcripts, a review of your records of previous coursework will help us provide a course map illustrating the most expeditious way to complete your BSN.
